How has the past week been for you?
Ugh. For the most part, it has sucked. A lot. My twelve day writing streak ended Sunday with the whole Kyle thing, and I didn't write anymore since until today. I feel miserable and useless on days where I don't write, so that on top of everything else making me miserable, it was a struggle finding any inspiration or motivation to do it. After spending the majority of the day sulking, crying, or otherwise having a headache and being exhausted, I finally sat down an hour ago and managed to get a meager fifteen hundred words written down. It's something, I guess. I wanted to reach two thousand, which is my daily word goal, but I'm just so bloody tired that I don't think it's realistic. Tomorrow is my birthday, and I keep thinking about how Kyle won't be a part of it, and I hate that, but I hope that I'll be able to still enjoy every other aspect of it.

I have a kid. My mom called me earlier to ask about Kyle, and at the time of her phone call, Emily was reading me a book before bed. Mom asked if Emily could read a book to her over the phone sometime, and Emily asked if she could just finish the one she'd been reading to me. Mom said that was a good idea. Emily gave her a quick summary of the story up to that point and finished reading it over the phone. Mom told her she was amazing, etc, then when we were back on the phone together she told me she was floored by how well Emily reads, and that kind of made my day a little brighter.
